Lil’ Asana (ages 6+)
Description: Lil’ Asana is Nicole’s approach to yoga for young people. This eight-week series is intended for young yogis ages 6 and older to build confidence, body and breath awareness, coping skills, friendship, and fun primarily through the practice of yoga asana (poses), breathing exercises, mindfulness practices, basic concepts of yoga philosophy (e.g., kindness and non-harming), and simple meditation techniques. Students should wear comfortable clothes in breathable fabrics and may bring a bottle of water if desired.
Nicole is a wonderful instructor for my 12-year-old who has been working with her for over three years. We started yoga for him to help him with his ADHD symptoms and he has made such progress in being able to focus and concentrate. He takes private lessons as well as her group classes but especially loves his one on one time with her. Some people have special gifts in being able to work with children and we love that she is one of these people and has been helpful in such a unique way, through the practice of yoga. –Jennifer H.
Teens Yoga (ages 13-17)
Description: Teens Yoga, an eight-week series for young yogis ages 13–17, offers teen
students an informal, safe, and fun environment in which to learn or refine yoga asana (poses) and cultivate a balance of physical strength and flexibility alongside their peers. We practice coordination of breath and body movement, simple seated meditation, guided relaxation, and learn tools to develop focus. No yoga experience is necessary–students of all levels practice together.

Private and Semi-Private Yoga Classes for Ages 6-17
Why enroll my child in a private or semi-private kids’ yoga session?
Private kids’ yoga provides individualized attention for students with a variety of needs. Sessions can be held in a studio in Durham or Carrboro, or at your home or another venue depending on your needs.
One-on-one attention is ideal for students with special needs such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, or other mental, physical, or emotional challenges.
Shy or introverted personality types benefit from spending a session or two one-on-one until they are comfortable doing the postures, then usually thrive in group classes.
Kids–and grown-ups–have busy schedules! Sometimes a group class doesn’t fit in with their other activities. I can arrange one-on-one or small group sessions to fit your scheduling needs.
Special occasions provide a great opportunity to connect with friends in a fun, positive, interactive learning environment. I offer Yoga Birthday Parties as well as other classes tailored to your particular occasion.
